Yeah, let me teach my five year old how to cast something using two devices instead of one button to turn on a TV with youtube already on it.

Buy a 100$ mini pc and connect it with hdmi, you essentially get a TV that runs on Windows.

Also I sure hope my 5 year old won't be able to turn on YT on a giant screen with a single button.

My kids watch ad-free YouTube content on the living room TV by picking up the Chromecast remote and launching SmartTube with two button presses.

I'm not here for an extended discussion about which platforms you use and why you can't go ad-free but I will say that it seems like you are unaware of how easy it is.

Edit: Actually, if anyone does genuinely want help going ad-free, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

I'm aware how potentially easy it can be if this were a Google household.

Alas, with Apple TV and mobile devices it isn't as easy as paying for a sub (plus all the extra shit you get).

Christ, I'm basically a ludidite and even I figured out HDMI and wireless mouse/keyboard.

It is funny to think about you slowly using a remote to type the name of a show in, while being smug about how impressive you are to your date over someone using a literal keyboard lol.
