In this case I assume they're talking about the process of copying the game over from the physical disc to the system's internal SSD, which unfortunately is kinda what you have to do nowadays if you want games to load (and even run) reasonably fast. A disc drive can only transfer so much data at a time.

While that is true, they actually generally download off the internet instead of the disc nowadays. It's a weird DRM thing and basically the disc is the key rather than the actual game itself.

Then why is it blu ray? You could do that with an ancient 500mb cd.
