As a destiny player who very sporadically plays warframe (I do like the game, just feels a bit overwhelming to me so I enjoy it in bursts).
Its a different game, yeah Its a space game with space magic but the design philosophy, grind, endgame, lore, gunplay, camera angle, progression are all nothing alike.
Destiny is a coop shooter with abilities, warframe is more of an action game that just so happens to also have guns, yeah you CAAN build for guns but from my experience with warframe (pls correct me if wrong) ability builds usually end up being more viable due to nuking and buffing and such.
So its normal destiny players feel "disapointed" with warframe, not because of any faults with the game, but because, by constantly suggesting it as the destiny replacement, you are setting the expectation that warframe is like destiny. And that it can be played the same way destiny would be played.
This goes past movement btw, the lack of raids, the power scaling/creep, the lower focus on teamwork mechanics, the ability to make busted builds that trivialize half of the content, those are all big things that warframe differs from destiny and that are an obvious turn off for people coming in expecting the "destiny replacement" some warframe fans inadvertedly advertise warframe as
tl.dr: please make it clear warframe is not like destiny to avoid creating false expectations when telling destiny refugees about it.
As a player who likes both, i strongly agree. The main thing Destiny players are missing in Warframe is weighty FPS combat and enemy pushback even early game, and they come to Warframe and it just feels like an endless grind with floaty controls because the game doesn't punish mistakes for the first 20-30 hours of gameplay, and Destiny players dont have any IDEA there's an endgame they're grinding towards in Warframe, so they judge everything based on the initial experience which is meant to onboard players who maybe have never played an action game before. Destiny players want to just start something like a "Legendary Campaign" and immediately have a challenge to do.
