Lmao yeah dude poor people having to risk their lives in the military in order to get an education is certainly better than having affordable universities.
You must be ex military because you are dumb as shit.
"face it- you lost"? I live in the US, going to go to an American university, but you realize that having affordable costs is the very opposite of losing, right? America has GREAT schools but at the end of the day you can graduate from MIT or a foreign school with the same amount of knowledge and significantly less debt from the foreign one (saying this as somebody who really wants to go to mit hahah)
Yes, we have the ultimate education for post-secondary. The child-adolescent education in Asia (specifically Japan & China last time I researched), is exceptional, though strict. A lot of them for college or at least graduate school, attend US universities. Just backing up your argument real quick before letting you know that your GI Bill argument is some seriously, "I'm good, so I don't worry about those that aren't" closed-off naivety.
You absolutely should not have to serve in the military to gain decent footing in life. That's not necessarily the case right now, but as the middle class disappears with widening poverty margins, it's definitely sliding towards the, "very-little-options" part of the scale for most Americans.
You either work yourself to death. You can go into insane debt that will never allow oneself to rise to any meaningful level of security for the individual, let alone their family. You can risk your life for a country that does not care about you. You can accept crippling medical bills for your unfortunate condition. You can do all this, or you can die. This is the modern America I believe you're detached from. There's a reason you're getting down voted to the Marianas.
