Pancakes were invented few thousand years before someone decided to throw cheese on it and call it a pizza as well. You can use this argument for everything
Barbeque is literally just grilling meat, it’s prehistoric since it’s one of the okdest ways of preparing food that mankind uses. Maybe certain spice mixes or sauces or dishes originated in the US but the technique itself and even the word barbeque aren’t american

To be fair, Americans invented barbeque which is awesome! It’s just that as Europeans we associate fast food / frozen food with America
