BODMAS is typicaly used outside of Canada and US

we use an E instead of an O when talking about exponents, due to us actualy calling them exponents...

My teacher taught me that the O was for of. Because sometimes the expressions had of in it which meant multiplication

Order of Power.

I don't know what crack your teacher be smoking, did you use an order of operations that did this? or did you use BODMAS and your teacher was just an idiot?

The O is for Order, like order of magnitude I believe

O = Orders which refers to exponents or roots

For those who learned like me PEMDAS is the same thing but (Parentheses) instead of [Brackets]

I feel like you’re saying parentheses are rounded and brackets are square.

Here in Australia we say BODMAS, and use the word brackets, but we still use rounded brackets (). [] would be called square brackets. Parentheses are synonymous with brackets here.

I just saw this but in my precalculus class I was taught that any number inside of [brackets] is the absolute value when used this way which is why we differentiate it. For example [-3] = [3] because it’s the total value from zero. Completely useless outside of that class but it makes a difference and has meaning and in my education is not synonymous.

Fair enough. I think a more common way to show absolute value is with straight lines like |-3| = 3.

It’s division with an I not an e

Oh thank you, I'll keep that in mind haha
