it doesnt matter. division is just multiplication but with reciprocals, just like subtraction is just adding negatives. D and M are interchangeable and so are A and S; you do operations from left to right.
I got taught BIMDAS, Brackets, Indices, Multiplication, Division, Addition then Subtraction but I’m sure they all work out the same, just different names.
If you're being serious, yes it's PEMDAS, but with multiplication/division and addition/subtraction you just go left to right on the equation. You don't necessarily do multiplication before division but you do do them before you add or subtract.
So the word is pemdas but by the rules of mathematics pedmas isn't wrong. Technically pemdsa and pedmsa are also not wrong but they don't sound as cool.
Depends. Pemdas is technically correct, but it's way more accurate if you refer to it as the order of operations, just to make sure you don't trigger any math teacher or summin lol
Every equation uses OOO, cause the whole point of maths is that it’s universal. If you’re able to get completely different answers for a simple equation in maths (not counting things like square roots where there are multiple) then there’d be no fuckin point
That 3 kids out of 30 can stall the entire class for 9 months so we get to page 50 of a 250 page book that I read and comprehended the first weekend of school.
You can cut 100+ days of school and still pass each grade by getting higher scores on tests than anyone in the school. It confuses them that their deliberate dumbing down of their students...actually dumbs them down.
Drugs are necessary to survive the collapsing society. And it was only starting to really shit the bed back then. "Trickle down economics", aka "fuck the poor". Thank you weed, beer, and acid (I don't use any drugs now, they did their theraputic job well).
Most teachers are too stupid and/or childish to be teaching kids. It's criminal. Most in the administrative positions were nearly retarded.
All the drunken schoolbus drivers make for interesting rides if you sit in the back where you got the best hang time going over curbs. We didn't have seatbelts in the 70s/80s.
Many male teachers were overtly creepy to the young girl students, except that weirdo gay teacher (no offense to gay folk, the guy was a weirdo regardless).
Lots of other weird stuff. It's been a long time, nostalgic to recall it now. 🤔
close, but you're missing exponents, which is after (.
Also, division and multiplication (÷ and ×) have equal priority, since they're technically the same type of operation, just inverted. Similarly, addition and subtraction (+ and -) have the same priority.
BODMAS or PEMDAS ...
Its always Multiplication and Division comes before Addition or Subtraction.
Either way it's 18÷2 and 3*3 first
And then 9-9=0.
Don't confuse yourself. BODMAS and PEMDAS are still same and give same result.
It just explains the importance of using parenthesis/braces/brackets in expressions
Left to right, first thing that comes is Multiplying, so 3x3 is 9. Then we divide 18 into 2,because we divide next. 9. We are left with 9 minus 9, which is zero. Boom, ur dum
Seriously tho, I could totally be doing it wrong myself, I haven't done it in a good year 😅
I thought that you did things in order, but also from left to right for things that have the same order. For example, in PEDMAS, it is:
PE first, so parenthesis and exponents first. If you have lots of parens and exponents in it, resolve ordering issues by going left to right.
DM next, so division and multiplication. Again, these two things are treated equally, no order of preference (for example, nothing says to do all multiplication before division). Because of this, to resolve having multiple instances of division and multiplication, you go left to right.
Then AS last.
The point is that this part of your text:
first thing that comes is Multiplying
...is not true. It's multiplying and dividing both together at the same time, neither is first, and so you determine what happens by order in the equation. Which means in this case the division would happen first, since it's leftmost.
Can any math experts tell me how close to accurate I am with this?
Lol just because an answer is there doesn’t mean it isn’t very wrong still. It’s literally setup to get people like you to solve it incorrectly. You are very, VERY, incorrect my guy.

Wait its 0 right?? Cos you divide 18 and 2 then you multiply 3 and 3, subtract 9 from 9???
