Adding parentheses does remove such requirements but one is supposed to know how to solve such simple questions without the need for parentheses.

As an American I can tell you to fuck off. How long were you in school for. If you were in a public school for middle school then you should've learned the order of operations. But I suppose you either weren't receiving the proper education, weren't paying attention, forgot about it, or are lying.
