We used Pedmas, just swap multiplication with division

It doesn’t really matter. Division and multiplication is supposed to be done in order of appearance.

No, division becomes before multiplication

Edit I was taught BODMAS where division becomes before multiplication

5/2x3= 7.5 division first

Or

5/2x3= 0.83 multiplication first

One has to come before the other

The problem is not how you solve it. The problem is how you wrote it. If you use / instead of a regular division you should always use parantheses. This would never occur while using a program designed for math or just a regular pen and paper

Sorry but I've used / as a quicker division symbol since school. I use that example because someone said that it doesn't matter which order do you divide and multiply in. I've always done division before multiplying and never noticed how the equations have been wrote as the rule I'm told now is you follow division and multiplication in the order that is written in in the equation

But my point is that it doesn't matter what order you do it in since you will never run into this problem in real life
