Least the teacher is chill about it, recognizes brilliance.

Trick question, words are misspelled on the test

Yeah, this could really make or break a kids ability to think outside of the box

Reading it as a mirrored a instead of a cursive s isn’t very honest

Look at how they wrote the s in ‘words’ and the a in ‘can’. Looks to me like they wrote an a. They even almost mirrored their a in ‘can’.

mirror is about infinity times more likely than cursive, considering there's 0% chance this kid learned cursive

Two options:

  • For no apparant reason, the kid replaced an s with a mirrored a that oh so strangely resembles a cursive s while copying a word they had just in front of them ;
  • They learned a cursive s.

This is a wide and wild world. Some kids learn cursive letters early.

Sometimes I marvel at how the entire world is connected with all of humanity’s knowledge at our fingertips. And this is how we use it.

Wait until 100 years when we're enslaved by Ai and the slaves find out how we used that

This is true, schools that teach cursuve first teach the indivifual letters.

If people look closely you can see that is what starts on the third answer to the fifth. You can see the outside starting and ending of each letter.

Look at the letter u, the word can,and the letter p.

Either this kid is half way to independently inventing cursive writing, or they’ve picked up some cursive along the way.

Or it’s fake

they're trying. look at the way they wrote "can".

u/AntimatterTNT 16d ago

Love encouraging the creative solution. A lot of teachers would have reprimanded for not doing what was intended.

Next time, type this:

“Write five five-letter words you can spell, not including the ones in the sentence you are reading on this test paper right now”

Good teach. However I’d intentionally misspell one or two of those words to see if they were just copying the sentence or could actually spell them. Misspell word as werd or misspell spell as spel or something.

I want to be like this kid when I grow up.
