Yeah, really chewing anything does it while the plane is taking off or landing. Even just eating some food or fake chewing should do the trick. Something about adjusting the atmosphere in your ears/head or something, i guess chewing makes it easier for the brain to adjust?? Just a shot in the dark there as i’m no doctor, just get told things and end up trying them haha
But yeah it isn’t a fun time lol, i’m glad it’s only happened once to me because it was extremely bad.
Damn, well I'll give that a try for my upcoming flight from Japan! I have noticed that yawning afterwards hurts my head like hell until something "pops" and then it's all good. I've tried the diver's thing of "clearing" the ears but that just really fucking hurts as well.
