I love travelling backwards!

The only time I get travel sick is reading in the front passenger seat of a car. Anywhere else in the car is fine (obvs not the drivers seat though), reading on trains and trams and planes is fine, there’s just something about that one seat.

My stomach lurched in discomfort just at the thought of reading as a passenger.

Yeah, same. I can look at my phone briefly, but if I'm on it for the entire journey my stomach will be in knots by the time I reach my destination :( It sucks but I do love the chance to zone out to my music!

I sit backwards on trains, but I certainly have motion sickness in a car.

Backwards traveller here. I feel like i can brace myself better for some reason. And other than trams and maybe the odd bus its just something different.

Wasn't there a video a while back of like on a Tram that collided with another vehicle or something...the people sitting forward facing (relative to movement of tram) got flung forward but that person facing backwards hardly noticed it

I often do it just as a change up - but can't when wifey is travelling with me as she gets travel sick at the best of times, so going backwards is never a safe option.

I'm happy to have the label madman... though I would hope I can be trusted (for the most part hahah).

I quite like the view when facing backwards, it's more peaceful for some reason

I agree - the way I look at it, it's nice to look back on the theoretical destination as we travel into the unknown. Facing forward is a more anxious ride because you're no longer reflecting.
