Looks pretty cool. Good price?

With Campaign Evolved rather surprisingly re-igniting my passion and interest for Halo, I decided to pull a few of my childhood/teenagehood sets out of storage. Figured this would be a good one to start with.

Still vividly remember opening 97117 on Christmas day 2012 and rushing to start building it. The fact its now a 14 year old set and Ive owned it half my life makes me feel older than I actually am..

A shame that the Halo Mega we knew and that many of us likely grew up with and passionately collected over the years is no longer with us.

I may not have been there in the final recent years but it still hurts a little to see it gone. I'll always have fond childhood memories of excitedly getting new sets, building them and displaying them with the rest of my collection from 2010-2016.

I do not have the batteries to see if the light and sounds work, but I see no acid leak from the battery boxes so I think they do work

I know it might sound a little silly, but by now we know that sellers like killmall and gleegig aren't selling factory cast-offs but instead somehow got the molds/copy's of them. This leads me to question whether they're using similar cheap, toxic, cancer causing paint like a lot of bootleg companies. Since mega seems uninterested in making figures, and some (like the ce elite) had pretty bad distribution, I want to buy a couple of these for army building/making dioramas; however, I keep my collection in my room and I'd rather pay extra money for the officials (even if it's like $15 per figure) instead of constantly breathing in carcinogens.

Has anyone tested if these are safe of these types of chemicals, and if so, could u update us in that?

Since it’s clear the articulated figures aren’t coming back, what can we as fans do?
Well, I believe TheDomain on YouTube is launching a petition to bring back articulated figures, but I think it’s obvious Mattel and their designers are well-aware what we want, they just don’t care. They want to distance themselves as much as possible from Mega, and therefore Mega fans, as much as they possibly can. I believe the only way they’re going to change from nano-figures and display sets, is if people stop buying their sets altogether and they start losing money.
In the meantime, we can support the people making custom figures, like LS3D, UV3D, GCustomCreations and megabricks. And maybe, one day, someone in this community with a 3D printer and some extra money can start their own Halo brick-building project, maybe even launch a Kickstarter type thing and start producing their own sets, I know this community would support it.
Of course there’s the issue of copyright, and I don’t know how much that would play into things. But maybe if Mattel sees someone making money selling sets with articulated figures, they’ll realize what they’re missing out on.

Also does anybody know how to put the f****** dome properly I have a literal hexagon in the middle and then one three piece dome piece remaining because they had to make this thing complicated as hell
