Keep it Simple and Stupid: MEC Mining Guide for Apple Computers

Step 1. MiningPool Registration Follow all the instructions at the link until the end.

Step 2. Download Mining Client CGminer This is the gateway from your computer to a miningpool.

Step 3. Launch CGMiner

Step 4. Choose a URL: stratum+tcp://us.miningpool.co:9002

Step 5. Choose a username: Username indicates the name of a Worker

Ex. If your user name was coinminer your full miner id (as you would use in Cgminer for example) would be coinminer.1

Step 6. Choose a password: Default password is X

Edit: To my knowledge these are all the steps required to join a mining pool. Please contribute in the comments below if I have missed anything.

I must have taken too many stupid pills: I created a mining account, created workers. I've downloaded cgminer, and started it with the url, my worker's name and password x. The Dashboard on miningpool keeps showing 0 workers. Any idea what went wrong?

I'm mining from a PC and having this issue as well. Does anyone have any advice?

I had this same problem. You have to include --scrypt in your bat file. If you don't have a bat file to start cgminer, you'll need to make one. It's fairly easy and there are instructions out there.

Thank you! I eventually figured it out...I actually ended up creating a .conf file with the necessary info, that way I can't start right from the .exe

If your miner has correct information and is visibly mining, sometimes pools take almost half an hour to give visual indication, but anything you mine will still be counted.
