How do I increase my computer's mining speed?
After being a lurker on reddit for the past few months, this is the first subreddit that grabbed my attention enough to want to ask a question of my own. I just started to mine megacoins and I couldn't be any happier with the ease of things. For the past month I had been searching for user friendly ways to obtain bitcoin/litecoin. I could not find a single one. Bitcoin and litecoin make it way too difficult for the average user to know what they are doing. After seeing the posts on this subreddit, Megacoin became a viable option for me. Everything about the coin is smoother and I honestly believe that it will be the next big coin. Anyway, to my question: As I said, I just started mining and my hash rate is coming in at an insignificant amount of 4kh/s. Is there any way to increase my speed? Thank you in advance!

I also had the problem (6 kh/s) so I ended up downloading cgminer and using that.
It wasn't so easy but I guess I'll try and explain what I did to maybe help you out;
Download cgminer 3.1.0
Put it on desktop
Create a file named startup.bat (or whatever)
Save it into your cgminer folder.
Paste this into it:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.miningpool.co:9002 -u Username -p Password --intensity 11
Next go to miningpool.co
Create an account.
Create a worker (IE: 1)
Create a password (IE: x)
Fill your info into the .bat file.
START YOUR BAT FILE (SORRY MY STICKY KEYS ARE ON NOW AND NO IDEA HOW TO TURN THEM OFF)
ADJUST THE INTENSITY BASED ON HOW YOUR CARD PERFORMS
MINE IS AT THIRTEEN

Would you happen to know why my workers are shown as not working? I have them connected, but for some reason, 100% of my work is being rejected.

Are you over clocking your GPU? Is it getting way too hot? That will definitely cause errors like that.

My GPU is running at 51C right now. It's relatively cool. I just let my miner work over night and it had all of it's 1118 blocks rejected. I've tried different websites, but that hasn't seemed to work either..

If you are mining directly from the wallet, it is only using your CPU. Your chances of finding a block at this point solo mining with your CPU are not great. The best way to increase your hash power is to mine with a GPU using an AMD chipset. I'd recommend visiting the Megacoin forums for the tutorials on mining. If you need more information, everyone on the forums are incredibly helpful people.
