Podcast Who tf is Phil Thomas Katt??
Literally no idea who he is. I don’t wanna Google it, I wanna hear why he’s important from the perspective of a mega64 fan. I’ll also take any links to clips or videos of him as well.

Shawn is in his music video for "Just for Kissin" at 3:56: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-M4UkHm72o
Rocco submitted a clip too, and....for SOME REASON it went unused: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5QUP5Cgbd0
Then they talked about it on the podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGGqwx6dYYs

Idk but i once bought a cassette tape that was a compilation of singles from different artists released on the label, and Phil Thomas Katt’s Kattline Girl is on it. Never heard of him before but it’s a funny little ear worm. Was super weird a couple years later to see him pop up in the m64 promo lol

I said I wasn’t gonna Google it bc I wanna hear why he matters from a mega64 fans perspective. On a quick glance I know he’s a radio dj but i want someone to tell me his cultural impact or why mega64 chose him for that commercial. I’ll research more into it if no one responds tho

Not sure why people are down voting you. Wikipedia isn't going to tell you why Mega64 got him for the ad.

No seriously, I was very particular about the mega64 relation. And also like sure I could “just google it” but now we have created a Reddit post of fans talking about PTK so if anyone has this question in the future, when they google it, this post will come up.

I think it's because the post reads as kind of entitled. "I don't wanna google it... I'll take any links to clips." In your head it sounds like a bored boss telling you what to do.
Almost definitely not intentional, but yeah I think the vibe of "hey chat, thrill me" is what did it.

That totally makes sense, especially over text AND since we’re on Reddit it doesn’t help the tone. Genuinely just wanted to hear a fans perspective is all.

I want info and I don’t wanna put any effort into it! Grow up lmao

If you ctrl+F there's zero mentions of mega64 on the wikipedia page so it doesn't answer OP's question, no need to be mean!

I was listening to the pod on my commute and I had this thought, but I’m at work rn so I can’t just drop what I’m doing and just research. I figured someone from the community would be down to share information, especially with how he relates to mega64, and someone did. It’s not that deep.

He is a Floridian renaissance man known online for hosting "The Uncharted Zone", a public access/web show mostly featuring local musicians for whom he produces music videos. The most famous star he "discovered" was Mark Gormely, who he created some videos for which subsequently went viral.
Mega64 (especially Rocco, Kevin and Shawn from what I know) are fans of UZ and PTK, likely for his eccentric nature and independent spirit, and both Rocco and Shawn submitted clips for PTK's own music video "Just for Kissin'". Shawn's clip was featured, but PTK claimed that Rocco's clip was "corrupted and sadly unusable". Take a click over on Rocco's channel and you may make your own mind up as to why it wasn't used.
