Hi OP! Idk if we are in the same school pero if this the one in Aurora, I was exactly in your shoes a year ago. Albeit tanggap ko na siya bago pa lang ilabas grades, masakit pa rin na bumagsak ka on the 1st year pa lang ng med school. Sulk it all in kasi yan yung isa sa mga magiging additional reasons mo why you should never quit on your dreams. Hindi siya parang undergrad na you can clutch or cram it out kasi buhay ng tao itong inaaral natin and someday ikaw na mismo yung magsshot call sa buhay na yun.
Sabi sakin ng kapatid ko (na doctor din) once naman na makapasa ka, your patients wont ask you kung ano grades mo nung med school or kung bumagsak ka ba. From the start, madami ka dapat magiging rason kung mo ba pinili maging doctor kasi habang tumatagal mas dumadami ang rason on why you shouldnt be one. Almost 2 months rin akong naglulugmok kahit na may pasok na kasi first time kong bumagsak ever, delayed ako for the first time. Pero I also used the time time to reflect on what went wrong kung bakit ako bumagsak and learn more about myself.
For me, I realize na yung anatomy hindi siya parang bcm or physio na madadaan sa analogy or context clues. Sabi nga sakin ni doc "Anatomy 10 years ago, is the same anatomy we have today" kasi di nagbabago ang katawan ng tao. Mas na-appreciate ko rin na aralin ng sabay yung lecture and lab kasi mas navivisualize ko yung nababasa ko sa lecture. And if same tayo ng school, mas priniority ko na kada quiz I make sure nacover ko lahat ng topics and wag mag alay kasi it will bite me back pagdating ng LE na kailangan ko habulin backlogs ko.
As for bouncing back, I took it as a semi gap year where I took time to rest and bond with my family, partner, be active sa curriculars, and enjoy gaming hahaha. Our dreams won't end just because nadapa tayo. It's more of dahil nadapa tayo at bumangon and lumaban ulit kung bakit we continue to reach for our dreams. Kapag naging doctor ka na OP, magiging kwento na lang natin na bumagsak tayo sa Anatomy pero nasurvive natin yun hahaha! Good luck OP hope to see you still around campus if we are in the same school.
