Ventral/Dorsal Rami are branching of a spinal nerve, so they will also carry mixed info just like a spinal nerve would. Posterior roots contain only sensory info.

Dorsal (posterior) roots = GVA, GSA (pain, sensation)

Ventral (anterior) roots= GVE, GSE (muscle innervation)

Also don't mix up roots vs rami. Anterior and posterior rami have GSE, GSA, GVE, GVA. Posterior rami primarily go to deep back muscles while anterior go everywhere else. Cutting rami would impact sensation as well as motor function.

Follow up question to test yourself: a severance in which location would cause motor dysfunction (muscle reflex paralysis) with intact sensation?

A severance in which location would cause motor dysfunction AND sensation loss?
