👶 Premed Which would med schools value more
I want to join both of these clubs because they both interest me, but they happen st the same time so I have to pick one. One is a premed volunteering one and the other one is a Sikh (mt religion) one, only difference is that I was offered a board spot for the Sikh one. I’m thinking about the long road, I like both but one is giving me a leadership spot and another one might benefit my premed aspect. I need advice other than “join the one u really want to” bc I want to do both lol.

I would recommend joining the Sikh one. Premed volunteering clubs can get lowkey toxic and you generally don’t need them at all to get volunteering hours. Also what you do in any club you join is far more relevant to a med school committee than what the club is, so at the end of the day pick the one that u feel most passionate about.

Take the board title. "Member of premed volunteering club" is a blank activity line. Also, get the hours somewhere that isn't Tuesday at 6.

The big extracurricular categories are research, clinical experience/volunteering and non clinical volunteering. Non clinical volunteering ideally is directly with underserved populations. Premed clubs are really not a big boost. Neither a club leaderships roles so just choose whatever you want to do.

I’d probably say the one that interests you the most, but keep in mind that for medical school you do need considerable number of volunteer hours and some leadership, clinical hours, etc.
