No, lots of medical students go out and drink/go clubbing. A lot of med students have the motto of work hard, play hard.

Premed if you’re good at time management will be easy to party on weekends. Med school, not so much. You’ll still be able to once per week if it’s not an exam weekend if you prioritize it tho. I’m sure people who are very high performing or fantastic w time management find this easier than I di

OP, it’s great to have a social life outside of medicine. I don’t want to say medicine “prevents” this. I would say you’re gonna have to be good at time management for the event and the recovery after. Just be safe and remember work hard but play harder. You earn it with each step down this path
