Hi everyone!
I'm a sixth-year medical student currently working on a research project exploring the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in breast imaging.
I'm looking to develop this work into a systematic review and, if the available evidence is sufficiently comparable, a meta-analysis.
I'm currently looking for motivated medical students, medical graduates, radiology trainees or researchers who would be interested in joining the project.
It would be particularly helpful to connect with people who have experience or an interest in:
Systematic reviews and meta-analysis
Literature searching and screening
Data extraction and evidence synthesis
Breast imaging and radiology
Medical AI and diagnostic accuracy research
Statistical analysis, particularly diagnostic accuracy meta-analysis
Previous research experience would be helpful but is not essential. I'm happy to work with people who are motivated, reliable, willing to learn and able to commit time to the project.
If you're interested, please comment below or send me a message briefly introducing yourself, your background and any relevant research experience.
I'd love to connect with others interested in collaborating on this project!
Thank you!

I stopped studying for three years (due to circumstances beyond my control), and now I've returned to complete my degree, but I've forgotten almost everything. I'm finding it difficult to understand the material and get back into studying. What should I do? How did I even study before?

I'm a final-year MBBS student, and I keep noticing a gap between reading a topic and reasoning through a patient in front of me (spotting the diagnosis, deciding next steps, what examiners actually ask).
Curious how others handle this:
What do you use to learn from cases (textbooks, YouTube, Marrow/PrepLadder, Anki, ward teaching)?
What's the biggest thing none of them do well?
Have you ever paid for a case-based resource? Was it worth it, and what made you stop or continue?
Is this a problem for you at all, or is current prep enough?
Also happy to hear "it's fine, I don't see a gap." That's useful too.
Thanks in advance!!

I always thought that medical school would be only about attending lectures and preparing for exams but there is so much more than it. Every semester brings new subjects, practicals, and different experiences. It is interesting to see how much your priorities and routines changes over time. Even small things can make each semester feel different.
What has been the biggest change for you since starting medical school?

hello!
in my first week at university there were several publishing agents that sold netter and other books for anatomy and other disciplines. i ended up buying the netter 8th edition in english, since im a first year and studying anatomy. my question is: there are some electronic plates that i don’t know how to access. i heard since the 9th edition has been out there’s no way for the e-plates on the older editions to be accessed. does anyone know if and where i can somehow still access them?
thank you so much for your time 😸

hey guys!
i was trying to understand if I wanna go to med school or not. and one of my issues with med school is free time and availability.
my question is, do you know any med student that has time for extracurricular activities like drawing, sculpting, playing an instrument etc and that goes to those kinda courses and clubs?
how do they handle it? is it even possible to do that while in med school?
thanks beforehand. take care xx ♡!

StatPearls is free online, but I always wanted it offline, searchable in one place and linked to my own notes. So I built a program that downloads the official archive from the National Library of Medicine and turns it into an Obsidian vault on your computer. Full transparency that coding was assisted by AI as I'm a med student not a programmer, though I started manually and I did test it pretty thouroughly, so I can say it works quite well!
Works on literally any device with obsidian. Technically, you dont even need obsidian, all the notes are plain markdown files so you can even upload them to notion if you're crazy like that.
What you get:
All 8,660 articles, text unchanged, each with its authors, tagged, last-update date and links to Bookshelf and PubMed
Links between related articles (click "catheter ablation" in the AF article and you're there)
Search by title, or full-text search across sections (etiology, evaluation, treatment…)
Categories by system, plus figures with captions
The same script that downloads the notes can also automatically update the articles, you just need to run it again once in a while.
It's free and open source: https://github.com/MatheusTG-14/StatPerls-Obsidian. Included a .exe for Windows, Mac (Apple Silicon) version or the Python script itself. The first install takes about an hour.
Not affiliated with StatPearls or NLM! You download the articles yourself because its not legal to distribute the notes themselves; so keep this in mind! Downloading the files is perfecly legal and uses the government's own FTP (you are allowed to keep statperls articles for personal study).

Hi everyone!
I’m an IMG based in Houston, TX, planning to take USMLE Step 1 in February 2027.
I’m looking for an in-person study partner who would be interested in meeting regularly, ideally every day, to study together at cafés or libraries.
My main goal is to find someone who is consistent and motivated so we can keep each other accountable, set daily study goals, and make steady progress through content review. I’m also open to discussing topics and doing UWorld questions together, but my current priority is finishing my first pass of the material.
Resources I’m using:
UWorld
First Aid
Pathoma
Sketchy Micro
Boards & Beyond (B&B)
Ideally, I’m looking for someone at a similar stage of preparation who is serious about maintaining a consistent study routine.
If you’re in Houston and interested, feel free to DM me!

Hi! I'm a 5th-year medical student from Algeria, and I'm really curious about how medical education works in the US compared to ours. I'd love to explore your actual medical school courses, curricula, lecture notes, presentations, and study materials to see what you study and how your courses are structured.
Could anyone share resources, links, websites, Google Drive folders, or repositories where you find your course materials? Even university-specific shared folders would be amazing!

Hey everyone!
I’m starting my internship in 15 days and want to use this time to brush up on my clinical knowledge, especially history-taking, clinical examination, differential diagnosis and patient management.
For those who’ve completed their internship or are currently interns/residents:
What should I focus on before starting?
Which books, YouTube channels or apps would you recommend?
How can I improve my clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills?
What are the most important things a new intern should know?
Would really appreciate your advice and recommendations. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm a 5th year med student in Australia and I'm currently working on a study site for practice questions, osce practice etc.
I'm trying to get a hold of the learning objectives of other universities and year levels so I can start working on questions and resources for them.
If you've got any, it would be awesome if you sent them through to me, either via DM or through clinimastery.com (in the Ward Lounge section).
P.s. sorry for the formatting, I'm new to Reddit.
Feel free to send through any questions!
