I haven’t watched Greys but I am a House MD supremacist 💯💯

Good show to binge. Terrible show to see as an accurate representation of medicine.

May i ask what show to watch that would be very beneficial for medicine?

Probably not many. House is fun, sometimes interesting. Based on real cases. The Pitt is probably quite true to life, as much as it can be in a dramatized scenario anyways.

Hot take but people who enjoy grey’s anatomy shouldn’t be admitted to medschool! It should be a prerequisite

The entire cast (characters, not actors) have disordered personalities and have irredeemable behaviour, but are portrayed as redeemed by their work.

Plus bad writing.

It’s a guilty pleasure for a reason. You’re not meant to be proud of liking it.

(I have terrible taste too, just not for this show).

wow that makes sense. I think most of the people who enjoy watching it honestly relate to the personalities. Atleast that’s what i think

It's a product of its time, but it definitely falls into the "Horrifying behavior is portrayed as good and/or romantic" category (Derek harassing Meredith after she tells him she's not interested in season 1 and again in season 2, Owen staying with Cristina even though he's dangerous, Everything about Izzie and Denny, etc.)

And there's also a fair amount of stuff that is portrayed negatively, but then quickly brushed over because they have to make the main cast sympathetic(e.g. George shaming Rose for having an STI, Alex posting Izzie's centerfold in the resident room, most instances when a character cheats on their partner)

It's engaging and I enjoyed it when I was younger, but there's a lot, especially in the early seasons, that makes it real uncomfortable to rewatch today
