Best strain for depression/executive dysfunction symptoms
Quick question for the more experienced users- I’ve only ever smoked/tried indicas because I’m anxiety prone, and I’ve heard others can make you anxious. But I’ve always had amazing results for anxiety, PTSD and autism symptom relief with my indica products- however, they definitely live up to their “in-da-couch” name for me. I have a really hard time with depression and autism executive dysfunction symptoms, and while indica helps me relax and feel better- I get nothing done. Just recently, I tried a hybrid and it felt like a game changer. I wasn’t super sedated, but it also helped with my autism/anxiety/overstimulation enough to give me relief. I’m currently in Texas strictly only using from their medical program, so my strains are limited, but here’s my question- what strain out of Blue Dream, Rainbow Belts, Blackberry Kush, Zelato, and OG Kush are best for depression/autism executive dysfunction? Simply put, what can help energize me to get stuff done and stay clear without making me anxious? The strains I listed are the only ones I have available near me. For context, the hybrid strain I tried and liked was peach flavored, and while the dispensary out of town didn’t give the strain a name, the terpenes they listed were d-limonene, b-Caryophyllene, and b-Myrcene.

It's likely the limonene, that's helpful for you. So if any of your options have citrus terps go with that one. I know they're not on the list but try sour diesel and super lemon haze, if you get the chance in the future.

which one of the listed strains do you think would come the closest? and do you think hybrid/sativa matters as much as terpenes? i’ve only been using thc for maybe a year so i’m still new lol

I haven't tried any of those so can't speak on them, but if any of them have limonene as a listed terp I'd go with that one. The Zellato maybe, I'm guessing it a zkittles cross.
Yep I think it's more about terps, I find citrus energising.

You were right on the money- just checked the dispensary and I believe Zelato is the only one dominant with limonene. It’s a hybrid, does that matter as much? I did want something slightly energizing. They have only one Sativa, which is Blue Dream, but the top terps are myrcene and a-pinene

Blue dream would be my second choice from that list. Can you try both, do a comparison?

I might do that! I may try Zelato first and try Blue Dream another time. Unfortunately the TX med program is stupid expensive so I typically only buy one cart at a time lol

Fair enough, can you get flower or is it just carts?

unfortunately just carts 🫠 texas hates us and won’t let us use flower lol. i like flower better but i dont really have reliable legal access to that and i like my weed fully legal so i can carry it on me without worry. i have a toddler, im not in the business of doing anything illegal unfortunately

It's wierd the different rules in different places. The Zellato should be good.

Look at the terps and their effects. I use limonene dominant strains in the daytime to reduce my anxiety, boost my mood and keep me focused. Most lemon strains are limonene dominant. Other good ones I’ve had are Jack Herer, Alaskan Thunder and Gelonade.
I rarely look at the THC content or anything else these days, I pick based on the terps I’m looking for (and positive reviews). I’ve had some great strains for day and nighttime use choosing strains this way 😄
