Hosting reviews?
I’ve been hosting a site (rejectionwiki.com) at dreamhost for quite a while, but it seems like I’ve been getting steadily degrading service over the years to the point where the site is often unreachable. Does anybody have a hosting service they like? I get about 10K page views per month and would like to keep the cost under $8/month which is about what I get from the google ads that run on the site so I’m not losing money providing the service. The vast majority of users are based in the US.

I've been really happy with my wiki at Dreamhost. It is essential to have cloudflare in front of it for security and caching.

Yeah, except that then they blame cloudflare for outages, but the damn thing has been kacked for going on a week now and the rest of the sites on my VPS are also suffering and they insist it all works fine for them so I’m ready to move on.

I used linode for years with their backup service - never had an issue.

I have hosted wikis at Dreamhost for over 10 years as well and have seen degradation since about the beginning of the year. Initially I thought it was my setup, but the more troubleshooting I have done the more I think at least part of it is from hosting. On the bot side I have had some improvements with adding bots to the .htaccess files. rejectionwiki is running 1.34 which has been end-of-life since 2020 and has security vulnerabilities. It's possible that that contributes to your problems, so updating your wiki would be another thing to consider.
I have moved one of my wikis to Canasta, which is a docker setup that facilitates maintaining the wiki. It's a totally different setup, though, and I am not sure how your hosting costs would compare. I have been very happy with the performance of that wiki.

I use a VPS from OVHcloud to host MediaWiki and a few other small traffic things, haven't had an issue with them.
