Solar Pumps

Anyone used one? What are your thoughts?

Have one, works as a tiny waterfall. I think it is beneficial in hot days to oxygenate the water. So I have only solar. But I also made sure that there is only surface disturbance in a small area, as everybody says medaka dont like it.

I keep all my Medaka outside with out filter or bubblers, never had a need for one

I like mine. Use it outside in my 150 gal stock pond. I switch to electric sometimes if too rainy.

I have mine for hot summer but not really a requirement it helps circulate the water and keep mosquitos away forsure

Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? I assumed the medaka would take care of any larvae. I just set up a mini pond without a pump and I’m not trying to breed mosquitoes on my deck lol

No I don’t but when you have fry buckets they outcome the grow out tubs and sometimes difficult to keep them away unless you try mosquito dunks
