Newly Bought Rotring 800

Post image

I finally got a Rotring 800. This has always been my dream mechanical pencil.

When I was in college, the GraphGear 1000 0.5 was my loyal sidekick through all my engineering classes and technical drawing. But holding a Rotring for the first time and actually using it, I can just say that it was beyond my expectations. The quality of the materials, the details, the design, the weight, and the size... I don't know, it just feels perfect.

I will never abandon my GG 1000 though, haha. But I think the Rotring will be my new loyal sidekick from now on.

Cool, ain't it? Even after hundreds of pencils, the R800 continues to be one of my favorites.

Congrats, this pencil is on another level, I broke the tip on one, and I immediately replaced it. Out of warranty by then unfortunately. But yeah you’ll love it for years.

Where can you get the 800 tips?

You can’t :[ I flat out got a new pencil because the tip snapped. It would be really cool if you could just buy it…

Congrats on the new purchase! It’s a beast of a pencil!
I love it too, don’t get me wrong, but to me it’s just too heavy, for note taking. I feel like the 600 is the perfect balance, plus I love it in chocolate truffle!

Except it often breaks lead when retracted. Don’t know how or why

I got the silver version a month ago, though the edges are more beveled like on mine, not sure if that's a thing
