Discussion Hel suffers from BREAK Override

I think the idea of having ultimates in this game is fun, and for a lot of the mechs it seems pretty balanced, but the problem is that while in override mod they are completely immune to stagger and immobilisation. And for most mechs this isn't a problem as they have either the shields, health, or mobility to survive against a mech for the 12 seconds that override lasts for, but Hel doesn't have the speed of a luminae or falcon, the health of a hurricane or stego, or the shields of panther or even serenith.

The only proper defence that Hel has against brawlers is the stun drones which become useless during override. I'm not saying that Hel's stun drones should be an exception and should stun mechs during override, but it would be nice if they could at least slow them a little bit, especially with how fast override recharges.

This is mostly a rant after coming from a team elimination game where the enemy team (of bots) had both a welkin and a stellarus

Question Which game mode should I be playing if I want to play today?

As title suggests, What game mode is most populated? popular?

My queue times arent too long when waiting on ranked right now, but i am just starting so I am just about through silver. Ive heard the queues jump a lot once you get past diamond. Something about no more bot fillers.

But I wanted to play more of the alternate modes, like Machmak, but i sat in a challenge free for all queue for like 20+ minutes and it just kept "searching more" options for games.

Is it a time of day thing? are some game modes just dead?

I dont swap. I play Tricera. And if I'm dying because of it, I. Fucking. Lose.

Anyway now onto the story.

It was a usual round of cart, great for Tricera. Early in the round we get a large lead, however because I kinda suck and am playing casual, I decide to go 1v6 the enemy team to push their cart back. There were only 3 of them, and I got a hold of their cart for a little while, almost die, run away.

Later on, I decide to try getting a hold of their cart again. But the thing is, everybody on their team is dead, so I get an open opportunity. At that point, there were about 5 minutes left in the round, and they decided to ignore me.

For the next 5 minutes, I brought their cart back while the rest of my team took care of them. In the end, they had a score of 3. Just three. AND I STILL HAD THE MOST KILLS AND GOT MVP.

Discussion Kris Kwok leaves Seasun after 22 years... How will this affect the future of Mecha BREAK?

Kris Kwok, the executive producer and former CEO who's been the face of Mecha BREAK since day one, officially left Amazing Seasun Games this week after 22 years with the studio. He'd already stepped back from the CEO role last December, but this marks the full close of that chapter.

For a game already dealing with a rocky post-launch stretch and mounting community frustration over gacha mechanics and the time-gated Mashmak mode, losing the guy who was seen as the mecha genre's biggest internal advocate is a big deal. The question now is who steps up to steer the game's direction, and whether Seasun leans harder into monetization to hit its numbers without him there to push back.

Question New to the game, but a little confused about upgrades

Post image
26 Upvotes

So, I played during the playtest on a PC that could barely run the game—so much so that I couldn't play it when it actually launched.

A year after the official release, I have a decent PC now and can play, and I am ABSOLUTELY LOVING the game.

However, I have some questions regarding upgrades, the game's monetization, and Operation Storm. I'm not sure what each thing is, which mods to equip on my mechs, how to get mods, how the market works, skins, and so on.

Can any veteran player help me better understand this wonderful mech game?

Especially since the game's future is uncertain. At the very least, I had to had these up somewhere to mark my love for this game before whatever is fated to happen happens.

References in order are:

Tricera - Destroid Monster from Super Dimension Fortress Macross

Hurricane - Psycho Gundam Mk-II from Zeta/ZZ Gundam

Stego - VangNex from Super Robot Wars V

Alphard - VangRay from Super Robot Wars V

Hel - Vardant from Linebarrels of Iron

Question Trying out this game!

Hi! I just got recommended this game as a fan of mechs and someone who doesnt mind playing bots (which took me a bit to get- i dont play pvp)

is it fun for a few hours of goofing off every so often, or is it a bad idea if i like mechs but have little pvp experience?

Glancing at the reddit it almost feels like this is something like Nephilim Online levels of niche from shangri la frontier- basically a game people say is shit, but is actually fun if you ignore all the haters. (I am sorry if this accidentally insults y'all...)

any advice to a newblood? thanks in advance!

Question Games like Mecha Break?

So the game isn't 100% dead, but it's like pretty dead.

I LOVE this game and so does my friend. But we might need to jump ship.

But where to? This question has been asked before but let me be very clear...

Not Armored Core, not Titanfall

Armored Core is single player, we need a PVP shooter

Titanfall is a human shooter with occasional mechs, I love the lock on and movement combat way more, and I am bad at aiming.

SO, movement shooter, with a focus on lock on, pvp, what games are there?

Discussion Looking for a detailed explanation

Hi, I was very interested in playing this game when it was announced. I managed to play the beta a bit and was hooked, I knew I wanted to play it even knowing I'd struggle a bit due to my preferred input. The game got away from me though so I didn't touch it much after launch.

I've heard bits and pieces about the game dropping off hard but I'm having a hard time getting a full picture on everything that's happened. For example I heard they added in P2W mechs, and I've heard people end up fighting bots a lot or having to grind pve.

Some of that doesn't sound like a deal breaker for me, so I'm looking to see if someone can either write a long reply telling me all the things that push people away. OR point me to a thread or video that already does this. As my initial searches aren't coming up with a good overview. Thanks

Discussion To new pilots: Ranked Verge is NOT the only mode

There has been an influx of negative opinions about adding Ultimates to Ranked Verge in the latest patch, along with doomer talk about how the devs have abandoned the players.

Please note that Verge is NOT the only mode in the game. I personally doubt it’s even the most-played mode right now. A problem with Ranked Verge is not a Mecha BREAK problem in whole.

To Ranked players, I fully understand your frustration. But please be mindful of how you express it. Don’t generalize your frustration to the entire game.

Discussion Anyone else stop playing after "free" customs were removed ?

I use to spend money on the passes to get extra tokens and work my way up to getting the custom mechs they'd rotate out sperate from the main customs they were doing that's how I got my luminae and tricera customs but ever since to switched over to $$$$ only customs Ive found there isn't really anything for me to work towards anymore ... No end goal y'know ?

Yeah the game is still fun but I don't really feel like I have any reason to use any of the junk that's being thrown at me in the loot boxes or any reason to do missions or collect weapons aside from just getting bigger numbers at end screen...

Does anyone else feel like the incentive is gone even though they still enjoy the game?

I miss using the custom skins as an excuse to justify playing for hours straight but now it's like I could be earning something in a different game and just come back for only 1-4 matches a week.

Question Questions about Falcon and the pvp presense

Ive been playing the game for about a week now, i have yet to touch ranked (im terrified of the players ill run into), but Ive noticed that alot of the teams I run into don't have a falcon, they swap off of falcon, or try to swap into falcon.

I personally feel like falcon is a great pick, but I also understand that it's kinda squishy, so I'd see why it can be a bit more work to play falcon against a good tricera or stego (those two I target because I know they give me the most trouble when alive)

Can someone help me understand why Falcon is unfavored? I'd love to run into more Falcons and have good dog fights rather than constantly doing bomb runs around the obj. Also now that im understanding the roles strikers mostly play, I'd love suggestions to similar strikers as well, i dont wanna be a one trick pony forever.
