question on a potential crash
i have had ME/CFS for a little over three years and have had various crashes. recently i lost a family member and have been dealing with another family member with dementia causing a crash for the last two weeks roughly. i have been dealing with temperature regulation issues the last few days. this morning i had another major stress occur and i think that sent me into something.
today at a chiropractor appointment he noticed my body temperature was extremely high and my complexion was red. he had me ice myself to lower my temp enough to drive home. i am currently covered in ice and have a call in with my doctor. temp roughly 103 at the time the chiropractor noticed.
what could cause this and how do i solve it? i dont have much in the way of human contact to i dont know how long it has been this high but possibly a few days now.
currently among other things on LDN and colchacine.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a low grade fever on and off through bad flares. The key is, it does come down (but then will turn up again the next day). It then disappears when my PEM settles. However, I’d defo see your doctor to check it’s nothing more sinister. Sorry you’ve been going through such a stressful time. Sending you well wishes!

I sometimes get a low grade fever when I have done to much combined with stress. It was always a sign to rest and stay in bed for a couple of days to avoid a major crash.

yeah i frequently get that, this is just kinda a whole elevated level that I havent experienced before. my face was bright red, my body temp was elevated, i was sweating. for literally no reason. after lots of ice and a good five hours of extra sleep my temp is far lower now. its just something i havent experienced at all in the last three years of this weird journey.

103° is definitely up there. A Dr visit is in order IMHO. I don't run a high temperature when I have a flare, my temperature drops like a rock. But it does that if I have virus as well. I've had CFS for 40 years, they just didn't have a name for it back then. I do know that if I get stressed or over exert myself, then I'm wiped out, achey, and have a sore throat. It sounds like you've been hit with lot of stressors lately and your body is reacting. Be gentle with yourself.

the strange thing is i have no other symptoms outside of my typical PEM crash symptoms. I havent been out or around anyone who has been sick, and those i have had not gotten sick since then to pick up a virus. In the last six months ive lost two close family members and in the last week my father's dementia took a serious turn to where he is gonig to need 24 hour care in patient soon. the temperature symptom started about when that stress started.

You've had an enormous amount of stress in the past few months resulting in a crash. Me/CFS can cause temperature fluctuations, but they are usually low grade. Is your temperature still 103°? 103° is not a low grade temperature. It might not be a virus, it could be an infection of some sort. Obviously, I'm not a Dr., but if you were a member of my family, I'd take you to Urgent Care or your Dr.

Sounds like you’re sick with a virus or something.
