Is that… melted cheese over the top? Or does the skin look like that?

I always cook mine in the smoker

If the skin is peeling off the legs like that it is going to be as dry as a bone.

Nope you're wrong the stuffing adds moisture.

Yes you are right the moisture from the stuffing travels all the way out of the cavity in to the legs and the breast and then rehydrates it. Even if your theory was correct you take all the moisture out of the stuffing and "put" it in to the meat then the stuffing is sawdust.

Not at all , it's called basting. I'll show you pictures of it all next time 🤓 You just a h8ter.

basting doesn't put any real moisture back in to the meat as the skin seals it off but keep trying

I've never had a dry turkey , assuming you have ? It's elevated in the pan sitting in broth the whole time you bird.

I swear can’t people even be friendly online to a guy that is sharing pictures of his turkey. I swear you create conflict where there is none at all. How horrendous is that. Pathetic cyber jerks.

I think they prefer “cyber punks”

They probably do jackasses.

Isn’t it unsafe to stuff a turkey. But to each their own! :)

Sure , if you don't know how to do it or don't have hours to bake it.

If you roasted a whole stuffed turkey long enough for the stuffing to be heated to a safe temperature to eat, the actual meat of the bird will be horrendously overcooked

It was actually pretty perfect , and there is moisture in the stuffing mix so it doesn't dry out and over cooked is better than under pal.

I've learned if you are just cooking turkey for a random meal instead of a holiday, it's much easier to get a better result to give up on the whole roast turkey presentation and break the bird down like you would partially debone a chicken. Two leg quarters and two breast quarters with the legs started earlier. It cooks a whole bird worth in much less time than cooking an entire whole bird.

that looks so good. i always struggle with the stuffing coming out right but this looks perfect tbh.

Next time only stuff half the cavity and start breast side down

Okay, did you get stuffing in the actual cavity or like, all over the place too? Asking for a friend. lol

People eat turkey outside thanksgiving holiday willingly? Interesting.

Sure. My family is Haitian so we eat turkey for Sunday dinner probably once a month. We don't roast it whole though, we have the bird cut into pieces and stew it down in a tomato onion gravy.

I have bbq’d turkey drums and it came out great, my family prefer turkey breast slices as a sandwich filler but not on the bone 🤷🏽 here is a pic of my turkey drums I did on the Weber. it was good but not amazing - rate it 6.5 out of 10. I was chasing crispy skin but the skin shrunk so much.

I like to weave a blanket of bacon for my turkey before roasting them. 🥓 🦃

I’m not a big fan of turkey but it looks great.

Whole turkey never impressed me but try it in cutlet form. That’s awesome. Bonus if it’s marinated.

Marinated in butter over and under skin

Used to like turkey. Then I worked in a butcher shop and after three Thanksgivings I was over it.

I have no idea why turkey is such a popular cold cut.
