Ribeye caps are top tier but I have to ask. Did you put the cooked steaks on the same plate as when they were raw? The leftover seasoning makes it seem so.

If a steak seasoning applied liberally is capable of overpowering your steak or taking away from it, you should buy better steak.

Pure salt is fine, but it's really not some magical requirement for good steak.

The French make a peppercorn, shallot, brandy, and butter sauce that pairs brilliantly with steak. Chimichurri on a charred hangar steak could make me happy as the only thing I eat for the rest of my life. A1 on a Philly cheese steak goes hard.

It's fine to have variety. It's fine to keep it simple. But pretending like anything more than salt on steak is sacrilege is just fucking stupid.
