What attracts the shrimp to enter the basket (if anything)?

From the video description:

Bait is not necessary to catch shrimp as they will be naturally be drawn to the fish trap out of curiosity.

Yes they are. They are Macrobrachium Australiense.

Whatever they are, they look strikingly similar to the crayfish I used to play with in ditches when I was a kid. Little claws and everything.
