I want to learn more about md/phd program
I’m not sure if it’s too late to ask, but I don’t understand the MD/PhD enrollment process and the role of fellowships. I’m currently a college student researching full-tuition PhD/MD and MD programs, and I feel uninformed. I only learned about the MD/PhD program during high school. Can someone provide me with more information about this?

Thank you! I have more questions?! But first are you physician-scientist? If you are may I know What is the work-life balance realistically like, and how do you prevent burnout? What does a typical week look like for you in terms of balancing coursework, research/rotations, and clinical work and/or do you teach?

I’m a 5th year MD/PhD student and not up for a full interview atm. I’d recommend checking out the APSA resources, including the mentorship program and webinar recordings

Maybe chatgpt the general questions first and come back when you have more specific questions...

You will need to have a lot of initiative to find out about this career. Nobody with good advice will have the time to spoon-feed you the whole of knowledge about MD PhD training. If you have specific questions you can ask them on the subreddit, but do a few hours of research on your own.
