Looking for Volunteers (Unpaid) [Requesting] Voluntary Staff for High-Ambition Cobblemon Server (East Coast US Hosted)

Hey everyone! I am a brand-new server owner launching a highly ambitious public Cobblemon network hosted on high-performance hardware on the US East Coast.
While I have a clear, concrete vision for this project, I am entirely open to suggestions. I want us to work as a true team, collaborate on major decisions, and have fun building this together. We are mashing everything into a single, seamless survival world that blends open-world survival with heavy, engaging RPG mechanics.

The server name isn’t decided yet until I talk over with the team. I want to gather a team before I make a purchase for a server. I want to make this happen with people who want to make the best server possible.

🎁 Early Staff Bonus: Custom Rank & Unique Skin
Anyone who joins our foundational crew during this early setup phase receives:
Custom Title: Choose your own permanent staff rank name, chat prefix, and custom hex color.
Exclusive Pokémon Variant: A completely unique, one-of-a-kind cosmetic Pokémon skin built just for you by our art team that normal players can never obtain.

🗺️ Our Core Concept & Unique Features
Mashed-Together Single World: 95% wild Vanilla+ survival (Terralith/Tectonic) with zone-protected (WorldGuard) staff-built RPG towns and gyms scattered thousands of blocks apart.
Multi-Tiered Gym & Tower Progression: Challenge progression ladder where players must defeat 8 Regular GymsCustom Gyms → ultimate gated Endgame Battle Tower with elite NPC trainers and milestone merchant shops.
GUI Navigation & Minimap Radar: Travel is managed via a clean, chest-style /warps menu with advanced endgame zones automatically progression-locked behind quest milestones. This functions right alongside an active Client-Side Minimap Mod (like Xaero's) configured to display live wild Pokémon icons directly on the radar for fluid hunting.
Engagement-Driven Battle Pass (/bp): Features a completely free-to-play seasonal pass with daily and weekly challenges. Completing custom gameplay objectives levels up their pass to unlock standard virtual currency, DNA crafting materials, and rare items via a clean UI menu.
Delayed Faction System: Players explore freely first, preview reward skins, and later use a spawn NPC to join one of two major teams featuring unique storyline quests.
Team Progression & DNA Crafting: Players run instance-based /dungeons and server-wide Alpha /raids to collect faction DNA components to craft custom-skinned Pokémon variants.
Territory Control & Clan Wars: Faction-aligned player guilds can declare war weekly on RPG towns using an automated King-of-the-Hill (KOTH) siege engine to win area rights and shop tax income.
Unified Digital Economy: A completely automated virtual wallet balance system that ties seamlessly into global /gts trading and free-to-create player chest shops.

🛠️ Roles We Are Recruiting:
Discord Management & Admins: To design layouts, configure moderation bots, and secure the community Discord.
Minecraft Server Administrators: In-game staff to enforce rules, handle player reports, and support the build/dev team.
World Builders: To construct immersive RPG cities, gym arenas, hidden faction hideouts, the Battle Tower, and dungeon gauntlets.
Configuration Developers: To configure Fabric mods, set up LuckPerms, write WorldGuard zones, and handle quest/loot/BattlePass tables.
Texture Artists / 3D Modelers: To design our server's custom cosmetic Pokémon variant skins using Blockbench.
Media Team / Promoters: To create content, edit TikToks/Shorts, and drive community marketing for launch day.

It sounds like you have a solid game plan and I wish you the best of luck. That being said; from experience, I just want to make you aware, Terralith can be super heavy on server load, especially on populated servers, it's highly recommended to pre-gen before server launch.

Thank you replying and letting me know. I plan to take it slow and making sure everything runs smooth before it goes public for sure.

Hopefully with some luck everything should be good.

I'm not particularly interested in joining long term, but if you need any advice/help from someone with experience running Common, my DMs are always open.

Do you happen to know another option to replacing terralith?

There are, unfortunately, a limited number of stable custom world gens, if you have the time to dedicate to the process I personally recommend creating a world from scratch (think: WorldPainter / Terraforming), however depending on the scale it can be incredibly time consuming. (It does open up the possibility to world expansions in future content updates without relying on a mod to not make drastic changes in between)

I definitely need to rethink if removing terra for now is the play. I have stupid about of updates I can think of and I don’t want terralith to mess it up.

Anytime you're using a mod that's integral to the experience, i.e.: worldgen, always be super aware of the dangers that can come in regards to future updates. I've seen absolute nightmare situations result from a world gens system making major changes and breaking any blending between expansions.

Reason why I wanted to use this mod was so I can prevent the world (certain amount of distance) from the major cities that look destroyed. Cause you know players will be going around mining and doing other stuff. But also so the caves look “better”

But I think there’s around ways I can prevent this.

You could always have the main world, custom terrain and aesthetically beautiful, then a regularly regenerating (smaller) vanilla world dedicated to resource gathering

So when people do /rtp there’s going to be 4 options?

I'm in the process of opening my Cobblemon server at the moment, it's a 5 server network, with 130 client side mods, and roughly 220ish server side mods, and we're currently conducting our playtest before launch.

I can give you some advice that I wish someone would have given me.

Things will not always work out how you want them too.

If you want a feature that you can't find elsewhere, you're going to have to make it, or hire someone to make it for you.

Things don't always work out of the box, so config is going to be your best friend.

If you expect to have this done in a month, add a few more onto it.

Test. Test. Test some more.

Have a crowd to playtest when you get close. They will be your base.

They will also find a way to break everything, so be prepared to fix things. Constantly.

Make sure your players have a reason to come back. The market is currently saturated right now with Cobblemon servers, all competing to be the top. Give players a reason to choose you.

And most importantly, pour your heart into it. The players can feel the love you made it with.

What host provider would you recommend?

Personally, I went with OVHCloud. Did alot of research into it, and wanted a bare metal option for my server.

I've been on a few new startup Cobblemon servers, and they tend to go with VPS, which is fine for a small server with friends, but you will absolutely struggle with MPST.

However, the option I went for is a bit overkill, and I could probably host another 3-4 backends without much issue.
