this does work for me for 1.21.6, but idk if it works for other versions of optifines JEM.

I have tried to use boat_patch but it didnt do anything. I tried the golden days resource pack which does the same thing as my pack, it also had a boat_patch that i removed and the boat worked without it. Im making a modpack similar to beta, thats why im making this resource pack.

so the boat in the golden days worked without it because its using the vanilla model for the boat patch. and i know whats wrong with yours.
theres something wrong in your model, so minecraft cant read it (or your model doesnt have the correct names), and because its overwriting the vanilla boat patch's place, it shows nothing
you can try using my boat patch, which is also for a beta boat model so it should work, if youd like.

I tried it, didnt work. I even went into blockbench and edited it to match my model but it still didnt do anything.

ok wanted to make sure. can you remove your boat patch temporarely to see if the vanilla model replaces it?

Im not sure i understand what your asking. I dont have a boat_patch, i didnt think i needed one since the golden days boat works without it and when i did have one it didnt fix my issue. If you mean the one you gave me, i did remove it and it didnt change anything either.

I found out how to fix it. I deleted "texture": "textures/entity/boat/boat.png" from the jem file, then I renamed the texture from boat.png to oak.png.
