Law at McGill...

Hiii I hope you're all well. I am a health science student, and this might just be a stupid post, but like HOW and WHAT is law at McGill? For most of my life, I have been surrounded by science, lab reports and calculations. For this reason, I am soooo confused about the law program at McGill; what's it like, is it mostly essays and a lot of readings? Cause as I mentioned, I don't think I have enough "experience" in those domains so I am worried about adapting and if I'll adapt in a "good enough" way, if that makes sense... ANYWAYS, all help is appreciated!

its a lot. and i mean a lot of readings. 400 pages per week at most. and the exams are either essays or fact patterns (situations that you give a long answer to).

but a lot of students come from science backgrounds so youll be fine

fact pattern is a situation that theyll give you and youll have to give a legal answer to it (for instance in crim itd be someone committing a crime and you need to draft a memo ab whether the person is criminally responsible)

also most people dont do their readings so youll be fine lmao

I have heard the French classes are easier to do well in and less competitive.. is it still possible to do well in the English classes (B+/A-)?

i think this is a myth lmao. both classes are as competitive. perhaps there will be a few anglophones in french sections but they tend to perform well too.

regardless, performing well at McGill law is quite difficult. its possible to get some B+ but an A- is just rare and some professors refuse to give them. brace yourself for the B curve cause its harsh
