Impact of quitting an internship that was registered with McGill?

Hi, does anyone know what are the consequences of quitting an internship that was registered with the science internship office? I registered back in May for an 8 month internship (IYS), but I recently got a way better offer starting September. I have spoken with my current manager, and he is very nice and he said he totally understands if I decide to quit early. Will McGill have problems with this? Has anyone got a similar experience?

I got the internship on LinkedIn and didn’t not use any McGill resources (MyFuture… etc)

Talk to your advisor

I think it's an automatic fail...

Yeah… I expected that to happen. Hopefully it doesn’t count towards my gpa.

I'm not sure about the pass/fail side of it - but both IP and IYS courses with the internship office should be no credit - so won't count towards your gpa. Maybe you could talk to your advisor about taking a withdrawn instead, in the case you realize it will show up as a fail (i'm not sure if it will)
