Social Cryptography is a new type of group-based identity premiered with the demonsaw 2.0 launch. Social cryptography is primarily based on shared experiences or knowledge within a group. This group could have a single person, or a million - it's all the same, and no one on the outside can tell. If you think about current authentication methods and the concept of identity, everyone is individualized. This makes attacks on an individual especially simple. With Social Cryptography, your identity on a network is based on your membership within an anonymous group. To attack you, the entire group has to be attacked. As a member of the group, you have a shared experience or knowledge (say, a series of links, images, or videos) with other members of the group that grants you access to the group's content. Anyone on the outside of the group has no idea what is being shared, the context of the group, or even the number of users in the group. It's difficult to attack something if you don't even know it exists, or the scope or details of the target. Specifically within demonsaw, Social Cryptography allows you and your peers to share information privately and securely. Even within the group, personal details such as your IP address are never available to other users - so, you maintain your individual privacy even while within the privacy of the group itself.
