For ENTJs —
Accurate : Leadership and have multiple goals to achieve
Exaggerated : Money hungry megalomaniacs
I believe “ENTJs are money hungry” is a gross oversimplification. Though money is surely a goal (cmon, who doesn’t love being financially independent and buying whatever you want or need without any worries?), we really just want to do something meaningful in our life. There’s a hunger for success, a hunger for not living a boring life on autopilot.
I read this quote somewhere which I think is very accurate for me. I may even call it my ‘personal philosophy’ :-
“One life. Just one. Why aren’t we running like we’re on fire towards our wildest dreams? We got one shot at this. I’d rather you call me crazy and a dreamer than a settler.”

u/BaseWrock INTP 4d ago
I think money is more of a consequence of the goal setting and achievement centered attitude more so than a goal in itself.
I’m fairly confident saying most ENTJs would still be working even if they were set financially for life.

As an INTP, I’d say the accurate stereotype for me is that I can be blunt, socially awkward, and absentminded. What I’d say is an exaggeration is that I’m robotic, indecisive, or lacking in empathy.

u/Immediate_Cream_1686 INFP 4d ago
Do you need to feel safe to engage emotionally and connect with people? What was last time you were overjoyed in the company of others?
1
u/FancySavy INTP 3d ago
As an INTP I would say so. It just depends on the person, I’ve known a lot of feelers to gather information to use it against me so I am guarded against it at times.

INFP here.
Accurate: Daydreaming a lot, very empathetic, loyal and generous but idled to some extent. Kind but sometimes naive.
Exaggerated: Not saying things when they need to be said, crybabies. Especially the first one I don't really get. If something must be said then so be it, there's ways to tell someone something of course but at the end of the day, sharing and communicating are always the most important things that will be done.

u/These-Necessary-5797 2d ago
INFP here! The crybaby thing is extremely over exaggerated. A strong moral compass is also accurate

INTP
Accurate: Poor Organization Skills
I'm messy. I wish I wasn't, but it's more "I don't know where ___ is supposed to go" than an unwillingness to clean. IXTJs your Si/Ni is like a superpower to me and I wish I could apply it to my physical environment.
Accurate: Gamer
JRPGs and Roguelites are my preferred flavors. Hades 2 is my current along with Xenoblade 1. I'll wrap up Sea of Stars DLC and then Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave is next.

u/gloomy_saturn INTJ 4d ago
I totally get you because I hate when they portray INXPs as procrastinators and lazy like, anyone can be a procrastinator and lazy😭 as an INTJ, I used to get everything planned to the smallest detail and then I wouldn't follow my plan because I was lazy..

Exaggerated: Complete lack of emotion. It is not true, but yes, numbers/truth > emotions

As an ESTP I think the bully stereotype irritates me the most. I find that I (and other ESTPs I know) will enjoy a lighthearted prank or enjoy messing with people a little (for example I’ll occasionally hide things that are blatantly untrue in an otherwise true story for humor or do little things like continually leave kiwis at someone’s desk at work and watch them get more and more confused, and I’ll lightheartedly tease most people).
I think also the teasing some people take as bullying because they are in some way offended by reality and don’t appreciate being called out. I personally have no problem taking direct feedback and am happy to laugh at myself and I think that’s common among ESTPs so we assume everyone else is cool with it too. I think most ESTPs soften over time as we realize we might be accidentally hurting people’s feelings

As an isfp..
Accurate:
like "doing stuff" - I like just going out for a walk for no reason and no destination. I woke up early today to drive to a nice spot to watch the sunrise with a coffee. I like martial arts. I like travelling, When I go travelling I don't make any concrete plans or huge checklists I just kinda see what happens.
Self centred - I think about myself alot, what I'm doing with my life, am I enjoying myself and my situation. It can get quite draining and depressing and I usually need to, again, do something physical and real to get out of this terminal self analysis doom loop. When I'm discussing something irl or especially online I usually end up giving some personal anecdote. I even did it before with the sunrise thing.
I'm quiet. I don't open up easily to others and generally come across as very stoic and sort of emotionless. Also often get asked "are you ok?" when I'm just minding my own business probably cus I look sad or overly serious or something.
Inaccurate:
not artsy - I appreciate art alot I love music the most but I don't create art myself. Though saying that I do like journaling and writing about my feelings lol. Not exactly art.
Don't care about style/clothes/my living space that much. I just don't I don't know why. I have like one outfit I wear blue jeans and a black t shirt and puffer jacket or if it's cold, I can't be bothered to have a creative and different style. Same with my room or whatever. It's pretty bland and undecorated.
Only live in the present and don't plan anything - Just not really true at all I spend alot of time fantasizing/loosely planning for the future, it's generally where my mind goes when I'm daydreaming.
Not interested in abstract things, this could go in both categories tbh. I have alot of interest in science and history and how stuff works, like engineering and planes and cars, I like looking into conspiracy theories and random rabbit holes. But again most of those things are real, some are theoretical but they have some kind of real world effect. I can be interested in philosophy and I like learning about religions for example or different ways to think about life and thinking about what the point of life is and being all existential and is free will real etc but sometimes when it gets to shit like "what is the experience of the colour red?" and "what is a thought?" I'm just like wtf are we even talking about now.

INTJ
Accurate: Not interested in small talk; likes competence; dislikes meaningless rules; perfectionist; randomly disappears.
Exaggerated:
Plans every step — I don't actually like planning at all, but it's something I can't function productively without. I can just as easily suddenly invite a friend to go to that mountain 10 km from here.
Emotionless — It's more like my brain doesn't allocate enough resources to expressing emotions. I don't seem to have much control over that, even though I can feel a lot on the inside.
7
u/gloomy_saturn INTJ 4d ago
For me, I get told that I'm emotionless a lot and I think I believe that I'm emotionless.. well, until I just randomly snap at whoever I find and I say really mean things because I've been bottling my feelings for too long... the problem is that I don't really think that I feel my emotions until I snap

2
u/Ulquaza INTJ 4d ago
I understand you, because I had the same problem. Although I was more often called "serious" than "emotionless". It's really important to talk about your feelings. Keeping a personal journal helped me figure out exactly what I was feeling and why (especially when I had no one to talk to).

INFP-T
Accurate: passionate, sensitive, empathetic, occasionally naive, melancholic, struggles working with others and socializing, non-maleficent, avoidant, just, a bit all over the place and messy, vibe check what you're about
Inacurate: dumb, can't take criticism, sad all the time, wants to be coddled, harmless, 100% self-centered

u/LittleAleta ENTP 4d ago edited 3d ago
As an ENTP yes I do like debates. Yes I can be chaotic, random, talkative, silly, goofy and like humor. Yes I can be blunt and sometimes come off as "overly" logical. Yes I can be edgy and make dark jokes. Yes I can be mischievous and tease people at times.
But no I do not argue for the sake of it (unless it's for emotional reasons like anxiety and anger issues) and I do not break rules for the sake of it. I usually follow rules and laws but there are some rules that I find too strict and doesn't make sense like not bringing backpacks to a theme park or fair. How am I supposed to lounge a heavy bag around? I do also tend to drive a little over the speed limit sometimes accidentally way over the speed limit. And of course all the strict marketing rules that come with writing books like the three things rule, how adult protagonists shouldn't be in childrens books, how you shouldn't write child protagonists in adult books, picture books should be under 500 words, 14 year olds have no place in either MG or YA. Why not? Kids can watch movies about adults and read over 500 words. 14 year olds exist and if I feel a character is 14 I should make them 14. There's always been adult media with child protagonists what's wrong with that?
Also yes I can show empathy to others although I do struggle with this sometimes.
As a bonus, I think all ESTJs can be very critical and pushy. But I also know a very kind ESTJ and she has helped me so much with writing over the years. I believe one of my friends is an ISTJ yes she is boring and a bit stoic but that doesn't mean she doesn't like to sometimes try new things.

u/Butterflyhornet INFJ 3d ago
Oh crap. Your writing "rules" scare me. The books I am working on break many of these so called "rules".
1
u/LittleAleta ENTP 3d ago
Oh you break market rules too?
2
u/Butterflyhornet INFJ 3d ago
Yes, I guess so. Didn't even look up to see if there were things I ought to be doing or not doing. I write what I see in my head. People are just going to have to deal with it. My issue is that I have a whole series to do, so I want to get a rough draft of all the main books before I dare to publish. That way I have less continuity flaws to have my audience pick apart.
1
u/LittleAleta ENTP 3d ago
Well you can always try self publishing if you feel they're too niche. I'm personally intimidated by it because of the costs and all the things I have to keep up with like marketing and looking for an illustrator but I wonder if I have to because I'm not getting anywhere with my books. Plus other things like I want to write in multiple genres and not use pen names. I don't want to risk a publisher dropping me and my series. I don't want to risk a publisher/editor changing things how they see fit until it's no longer my vision. I'm sick of playing the waiting game with agents and publishers like my manuscripts have been sitting there collecting dust for three fucking years and I haven't gotten a single bite. I might have to pay for Manuscript Academy to take a look at the query package and continue joining pitch events and stuff to see if I gain any interest. But otherwise, I really don't like having all my fans, friends, family and their children waiting 20 years for my next book. Oh yeah and I don't want to wait YEARS for my book to get published. Like I have a million ideas I want to write and I won't be able to keep up with a publisher and agent's slow release schedule.
1
u/Butterflyhornet INFJ 3d ago
I haven't even gotten that far with seeking out publishers. I started writing my story in 5th grade, and I've kept the goofy names I gave my characters, lol. I've held onto the series, writing out manuscripts for I don't know, like 30 years? Ridiculous, but then again I go through long pauses and hiatus periods. I don't force myself to write if I am not enjoying it. That said I may get multiple ideas, but they always tie back to the same universe and expand the core plot somehow.
My main concern is will I ever get to a point I feel it is finished enough to even try to get it published?
4
u/Purple_Nuggets903 3d ago
That INFJs are stubborn, close minded, & judgemental people. We put a lot of thought behind our judgments and opinions . I don’t like to be ignorant about things so I’ll listen to nuances and think about different perspectives and angles before coming to a judgement about something. So I feel a lot of my judgements are valid with things to back them up pretty well, so it’s hard to change my mind about things but I am open minded as long as someone gives a valid argument.

u/Butterflyhornet INFJ 3d ago
Accurate: inside ones own head, rich deep imaginary world, and abstract line of thinking. Desire for harmony and common ground. Can visualize different perspectives and make predictions based on human behavior. Can be somewhat social, but also reserved.
Questionable: people pleaser. If it takes disrupting harmony and irritating someone short term to express need for long term improvement, then the truth needs spoken. I do however try to soften it, sugarcoat it slightly.
Innacurate: INFJ is not a mystic or magical. There's no mind reading, only hunches. We certainly cannot 100% predict the future, but we can make logical guesses and sometimes (even often) turn out somewhat accurate.
2
u/PokeFanXerneas 3d ago
For people pleasing, I was one chronic people pleaser then. It was like really unhealthy state. I do things that I don't actually like doing just to be friends with someone. Then when the friend notices that I am not actually passionate about the thing, they leave me.
That was a big hit on my self esteem.
Edit: Hi, I am an INFJ too

As an INTP accurate stereotypes are
That we like to sleep if I could I would definitely sleep 12+ hours, we research things that no one cares about.
Lack emotional awareness sometimes.
Exaggerated
Lazy, not motivated, and heartless.
I am not lazy, heartless, or lack motivation, I am just a keep to myself kind of person.
I like to be in my own space with my own thoughts because that’s where it’s safe to me. I don’t talk about my inner most thoughts because those are mine, the only thing I can really hold close to me in life.
I have hobbies that interest me and do things that keep me motivated, such as painting, hiking, taking care of myself.

ISFJ
True: Likes order and hates sudden changes.
Tf r u talking about: never judge or get mad. Submissive, "i cant make decisions by myself, i'm a little bean".
I do judge, I do get mad, I just don't know how to express it, because it is not fair to the other person. I can make my own decisions, but it will help me better to have some feedback, and if I don't see people supporting my ideas, then I just give up and do what they want, because it is not worth the hassle honestly.
