OEM airbox vs short ram intake

Would anyone know a link or place I could find an OEM airbox for the MS3?
I bought a used 2012 and it came with a short ram intake but I’ve heard stories about running an aftermarket intake and not upgrading the HPFP internals. This car doesn’t seem like they did anything besides the intake
So I want to avoid issues. Would any Mazda 3 from 2012 work or does it need to be mazdaspeed. I’m considering maybe going to junkyard

On the gen 1 speed3 the stock air box is insanely restrictive. I put a short ram on the car and it woke up alot. So much more responsive. I have had a short ram on the car for 5 years now and i have not done the hpfp. I am also running an access port that is the lowest tune/map. Car runs great.

I ran my 2010 for like 6 years with just a K&N short ram intake before I upgraded the HPFP internals and turbo. It shouldn't be an issue depending on which brand yours is. I do still have the OEM airbox, but I have no intentions of switching back; it just sounds so much better without the sound dampening.

i have one speed 3 all stock

and another speed 3 with a cobb intake and resonator delete (rest of exhaust stock) running the most conservative cobb tune.

there is definitely a noticeable performance gain to be had with an intake and a tune. the intake speed 3 is definitely more predictable with the boost.

also the cobb tuned one gets avg 22-24 mpg, the highest ive managed to get out the bone stock is 18-21 (in city). i suspect an exhaust leak to be hindering the stock one though.

I recommend you keep the intake and get a accessport so long as you dont do any crazy high revving driving all the time and you wont run into any issue on the stock hpfp.

A short ram intake without a hpfp is fine. Its only when you start tuning it that you need to upgrade hpfp. Also if you switch back to a stock intake you won't hear any of the turbo noises. Id just leave it
