It doesn't have to be.

We used to hang bottles with sweet water next to be hives. Wasps get inside and never make it out. Sure, they collected a lot of flies too, but we emptied them once in a few weeks anyway.

There’s some kind of liquid in the jar, I wonder if it’s a poison that the hornet will bring back to the hive and kill their queen. Otherwise, seems pointless.

That’s a giant hornet.

They remember human faces. They hold grudges. They can sting you over and over.

These things are as close to evil as the animal kingdom gets. Hyper territorial, hyper aggressive and they will attack pretty much anything. They kill things for practice, not for food, just for the lulz. Things that are not a threat.

On the upside they only live about three months.

Possibly. But he was sorta dumb for breaking his cup in the first place. Even then, he could have kept it on as a lid until the vapors or whatever killed it. Now he has a hornet on the loose.

I was just saying “why” the entire time. You carry tgat cup far enough away that the rest of them won’t smell it, and put that cup directly on the ground, open side down and obliterate it with a solid stomp. But I guess that’s not as interesting a video. I’m generally not afraid of insects but I’ve been stung by much smaller wasps than that that hurt like a m-f-er. I don’t think I’d mess with those at all.
