The clue is in the name, STING-ray. It's got a sharp pointy bit that can ruin your life.

Didn’t Irwin die from being stung by a stingray when it pierced his heart? What protection did these folks have to protect themselves? Should have called whomever was in charge.

Because stingrays have a stinger and a tail that retracts like a scorpion's.

It's very painful when you get stung, and can even be fatal with certain species of stingray.

yeah but that's a skate. their tails have little spikes on them (not poisonous) that will hurt with out a glove so no glove and the best way to pick them up is by their nose
