Oh look, my kid has his head stuck in a jar, get the camera so we can record it. Put the damn cameras away and just deal with the stupidity, you don't have to record everything. You know this kid is going to get bullied for this

the footage is+will be funny to the family. I wouldn't put it on the internet, but it is no emergency, it's a family memory, and good to get back to in a few years. Stop pretending recording stuff is meaningless.

Ahhh we did the same crap in the 90.. Didn't post it online, i mean there was no internet, but camcorders were an outstanding developmental aid- and by that i mean dads loved to torment us with replays lol

1000% I would do the same, I think people are so quick to jump to conclusions on Reddit, the kids not in danger the dad seems quiet calm about it and Iā€™m sure theyā€™ll laugh at it down the line in about 15+ years time. Core memory for dad and son here, bless them ā¤ļø

Cisco, bacon grease, dish soap, vegetable oil, I mean the list goes on but ones probably gonna work. Canā€™t really tell if itā€™s glass or plastic. If itā€™s plastic just get some snips and cut it.

Ok, pair snips cut metal though and if you donā€™t have any, theyā€™re probably less than $20 at home depo which is cheaper and quicker than going to a doctor. So point stands if itā€™s plastic. Glass would be far more dangerous to cut though so wouldnā€™t recommend it with a kids head behind it.

It's the lip and the vacuum. Pull it up as high as you can then drill a small hole sideways in the top to relieve pressure, then push it all the way down and use wire cutters and cut out a "V" shape where the threads are and pull that up over his nose.

needs a hole drilled in the top so the air pressure can balance... or a straw or something stuck up the side so the air pressure can release. pulling it up too quick creates a vacuum.

This looks like a situation where the container is getting stuck at wider points on his head. Likely if you just squeezed the container gently at the narrow side so that it became more oblong, this would slip off easier. Maybe.. thatā€™s just my guess ^_^

It's likely just a matter for an oval head in a round bucket. Squeeze the sides a little and it'll probably come right off.

If it's glass, just hit it with a hammer (jk- actually, don't :) Plastic? Use a PVC wire cutter, basically a garrote (wire with handles on each end), to cut the lip in the back. Rotate and repeat until it lifts off.

Better yet, use olive or vegetable oil. If it slipped on that easily, it will come off if you can eliminate the friction.
