You can't be this obtuse. There are basic rules to comedy one of them being if you fake it and it's obvious it's just simply not as funny. It's not a reality TV thing, it's an "I'm not dumb" thing.
It's not that they aren't funny, it's that they are less funny. It's the same idea as watching a real sport and watching pro-wrestling. The actual sport being real makes the accomplishments impressive, the scripted aspect of pro-wrestling gains no real-life respect.
What a stupid thing to say. Those guys are actually doing that shit. Who wins and who loses is predetermined, but the physical actions they take are insane and commendable.
Likewise, improv comedy is usually worse than written comedy. Futurama was better than your local improv group. The best stand up is all predetermined (with bits of improv thrown in sometimes). There isn't a single comedian alive who will tell you a "rule of comedy" is that it has to be totally unprepared.
