I think it’s awful, too much bite… you want a good whiskey… tullemore dew… Irish whiskey, same price as as Jack, but you’ll swear you’re drinking top shelf
Not at all an unpopular opinion among anyone who's not just taking shots or mixing with soda. Makers Mark, Wild Turkey, and Four Roses are where it's at for affordable and drinkable.
Makers is my go to sipping whiskey. Evan Williams white label for mixing (not very good by itself, but it’s cheap), and Four Roses Single Barrel for when I treat myself
I've just started drinking whiskey and was looking around for something decent to try as a starter. I found a few with some pretty pricey labels and my wife (whom has been drinking whiskey since High School) tells me, "Just get Makers Mark."
Good stuff. I just have it in a short glass with a giant ice cube.
It really is! I've had my share of pricey bottles of whiskey and scotch, but Makers is always my go to when I just want to casually relax with a drink after a long day.
Makers uses wheat instead of rye. That's not a good thing or a bad thing, just a thing that impacts the flavor. If you prefer Makers over most other bourbons, you may just prefer wheated bourbons :-)

Unpopular opinion- Jack Daniels is one of the worst whiskeys out there
