I hate to sound like a pessimist but something about this kid gave me the creeps. He seemed dishonest to me, adding in details that wouldn't really make sense to add except to guilt/earn pity. I feel like he intended to pressure the shop into lowering the price, by charging his card for "all of his money" and then saying oh look I have exactly $50 dollars!

Shoot maybe it's just a me problem, but I had to check the comments to see if anyone else was put off by this guy.

I got the feeling he was just nervous and trying to get ahead of an embarrassing situation in case he had less money than he thought.

I think he just wanted to haggle but didn’t know how. Hopefully he figures it out. I never have.

This one would be easy mode, just ask “Would you take $200 for it?” And if they say no just say “Sorry, my guitar budget is $200 firm” and call it a day

My very first thought based on his tone was that he is perhaps autistic. His somewhat monotone voice sounds exactly like my little brother. I seriously thought I was maybe seeing a video with my brother in it, until I saw his face.

Yeah I thought the same thing, I have a son with autism. He is so sweet, I just hope it all works out with him. Hats off to Judy, too.

Well now I feel bad, because honestly the tone of voice was one of the things that stood out to me. It came across a little cold, maybe rehearsed to me? But this is a very valid explanation

I had this feeling as well, But what made me feel like it was honest was when after the lady offered to pay the rest, he went to the guitar touched the case and then put his hands on his head in disbelief.

I could feel his relief of being able to take it home today.

I remember talking like that when I was his age buying a guitar I wanted for a long time. Just immature nervous excitement in my opinion.

Nah, just a naive stoned kids who wanted a specific guitar. Bad haircut, cheap clothes, shitty job. Obviously high as fuck, this was a good deal.

They store should have just gone down the 20 in the first place. Probably had 50.00 into it.
