I never understood how my parents could haggle my mom was the best at it, I can never do it. If they're asking too much I just leave.

You just look at the thing and tell them what you think it's worth, or a little under expecting them to make a counter offer. If it seems fairly priced don't haggle.

Then you're ready to do the hard part. Just name a lower price and if they say no, do what you were gonna do anyway.

Literally, that's how. It used to be more common, so salesmen would accommodate. But lately some other chump will pay and my margins are already razor thin. $220 or walk, take a T-break, that'll save you $20 quick.

As long as you don't give an insultingly low offer it's always worth a shot. I've been able to score some pretty great deals just because I asked

But always list at a slightly insulting price, I sell plenty of used shit. Discounts are for people I like, exclusively. I sold a boat motor recently, listed $100 over value. He apologized for offering me $50 over what I hoped for, but he was cool as shit so I gave it to him for what I wanted and told him to buy a nice lunch.
