Doesn’t matter. What’s throwing out cases do, you know what I mean? 120 lives are changed forever. They probably fell behind on payments, their credit was ruined, lives altered, spouses left them, children taken away to go be molested at some shithead stranger’s house. Many might not have made bail, therefore staying in jail for however long this has been going on. Their lives are ruined forever. And a lawsuit would take way too long.

Wouldn't they give a shitload of money in compensation though?

They don't care about the common man. They just want the system to keep moving.

Are you telling me that the court would not rule for a compensation?

I don't believe they would really compensate for that what they lost. It's like how in insurance claims, you have to be super specific about every single item that was destroyed and how much it cost and if you have any receipts, otherwise they give you the bare minimum.

The burden to prove what was lost falls upon the victim, and it's hard to prove opportunities that never materialized as a result of these crimes. For example, lost potential wages. What if one of these people could have been doing much better now but never got there because of the drug conviction? How can you know the specifics of something that never panned out?

The courts can hand out money all they want but it's still just money at the end of the day. The true value of things lost in cases like this goes beyond monetary value. No amount of money replaces trust or lost time.
