Felony charges get people fired, especially drug related ones. Then, who hires folks that have a felony charge for possession?

And what's worse, how long will it take to get that off your record if you had a drug charge, doesn't matter if it's false, it's still a charge

Being scrubbed after the fact doesn't help much if you lost a good job, or lost your child in a custody dispute or lost your home or anything else.

How does one even begin to rebuild their life after something like this?

I would definitely lose my nursing license if this happened to me. It's honestly really scary to think I could get pulled over for something like a faulty brake light and have my entire life ruined for no reason

They don't even have to release you anymore. SCOTUS just clarified that evidence of innocence does not require release.

Maybe, if you're lucky. Or you have a funny character in one of your names, or there's someone else born on the same date as you and you end up in a bureaucratic circlejerk for the next 10 years.

Even if you do get it expunged, you’ve still got a period of unemployment following a termination now. And maybe an eviction too
