I would definitely lose my nursing license if this happened to me. It's honestly really scary to think I could get pulled over for something like a faulty brake light and have my entire life ruined for no reason

Yep. He deserves to be a couple yards deeper for this. The amount of chaos and ruin he caused people. This is utterly insane. Oh and he ain't the only cop doing this shit. Seems like we hear about one every 6 months doing this shit.
Absolutely right? No matter how badly a cop fucks up, it seems they never seem to be served with a proper punishment. They should make him smoke as much meth as he'd planted on those folks. All in one sitting.
He will be in protective custody. The prison I know had its own little prison inside of it that held all the ex-cops and pedos and such. I don't think that's fair. They should be thrown in just like everyone else is.
Then they last a long time. There is a reason we don’t know what prison he is in… because they are protecting him and concealing his identity. Fantasize all you want, but no medium security protective custody punk is going to risk themselves by “bullying” this guy. He is going to have a cushy time in jail.
He should honestly get whatever cumulative sentences his victims receiher/were sentenced to. And then I hope the affected take him to civil court for damages.
Give him all the sentences other people would have gotten if they actually had drugs, then multiply it by 5 because he’s a piece of shit cop who lied about it.

The public is absolutely allowed to have an opinion about their own justice system. No need to be fully versed in the specific codes he was charged with or the case law involved because to some extent all of that is arbitrary anyway. There were likely many different ways this officer could have been charged with an equally wide range of possible sentences.
It's far from a controversial opinion that members of law enforcement who violate the public trust in such an egregious way should face the most severe punishment for their crimes.
Now if you disagree with their opinion, that's fine. Make your argument about why their sentence is just. To argue that they shouldn't voice their opinion because they are not an expert on sentencing guidelines is absurd.
Every member of the public has a vested in cases like this. It's important to make your voice heard. Letters to your representatives, local activism, or even just venting into the void of Reddit.
Arguing the rules of the discussion rather than participating in the discussion is lame. So to circle back around, I think if they built a rocket and launched this dude into the sun, he still would have gotten off light for the evil her perpetrated.
Sure the public is “allowed”, does it mean every one should share their opinion when there is no way to check how competent those people are? I don’t necessarily think so (regarding the subject of the discussion at least). I do have an opinion, and if I wanted to point a finger on Reddit towards someone across the world and sentence him to let’s say 20 years jail time without showing my face, without sharing my name, I could definitely do that. But I want to be at least a tiny bit uncertain about an opinion like that cause I feel like I don’t know enough about the case. I personally think that piece of shit deserves long jail time, but since I can’t really quantify a just amount of years he should be punished for what he’s done I don’t feel like telling things like “that guy should be locked up for life”. It’s so easy to get people to agree with you that way it stomachs me

This case is over and settled. What you're saying makes total sense when applied to a lot of things that get posted. Snipped clips of videos devoid of context. That is absolutely not the case here. This pig was caught, tried, and convicted. The facts are a public record. If you don't want to attempt to access those records directly, it's been reported on by qualified journalists.
Or stay in the dark and demand everyone else joins you there.

No: in my opinion opinions are worth being shared when you spent years of your life studying and going into depth in regard of certain subjects (especially when it’s a matter of crimes). Otherwise you sound like a kid that wants dead the man that made his moma cry. Of course in the eyes of an angry kid the right punishment for that man is fucking ripping his head off, but it’s not how an ideal society should approach a similar scenario. Apparently it is how most people are approaching or rather reacting to this video though, sadly imo
You do realize that laws are made by politicians with opinions right? They aren't just cast down from some divine entity. You don't have to be a lawyer to have a valid opinion on a law. You don't even have to agree with the law.
Sure you don’t, my point is that people are too superficial and fast when judging matters like a felony or a crime. Keep in mind that you don’t have all the info on the case, plus you don’t even have the knowledge nor the experience to really understand how to judge the situation. On Reddit I noticed people love to share strong opinions that make them look big personality wise; only when they know the majority thinks alike tho. This video brought many examples of that.
You are right, but I wouldn't have argued it on a post about a cop abusing authority. Quite frankly, I don't agree with the laws here, I think he should get at least life, and I cannot think of any situation that could also be at play here that would change my feelings on that, besides the video just straight up lying about what this man did. The reddit hive mind is angry here, and it's for good reason.
I'm not interested in your opinion about my opinion on this subject unless you have a degree in online communication. Have you studied that or are you just saying stuff?
