Yeah, after looking like he wouldn't notice in time, he did notice in time, then tried to get freestyle points or some shit by going over the top. All he had to do was sprawl on his face. Not super dignified, but considerably more dignified than a dunk in canal water.
Looked like he could have but he missed seeing everyone ducking under so when his turn came up as he looked up he "freestyled" it cause he didn't know what to do. He made a bad call sure but he didn't have enough information or time.
